Food delivery, grocery shopping and cinema bookings are the building blocks of Eternal’s new credit-card partnership with SBI Card. The co-branded card connects rewards across the group’s consumer apps.

The Eternal SBI Card was announced on October 15, 2026. Early-access requests are open, with invitations to apply rolling out in phases from October 22. Eternal says this initial phase covers 5,000 cards; requesting access does not guarantee approval.

The Breakdown

Eligible purchases on Zomato, District and Bistro receive a 10% instant discount. On Blinkit, that rate covers beauty and electronics; other eligible categories receive 5%. All four platforms share one ₹2,000 monthly discount limit.

That shared limit matters. Using more of it for a food order leaves less for groceries or entertainment in the same month. A Blinkit basket containing items from both the 10% and 5% categories will not receive 10% off throughout.

There is a separate preferred-partner tier covering Apollo 24|7, ixigo, Uber and Urban Company, advertised at up to 5% with a ₹1,000 monthly cap. SBI Card’s FAQ specifies that eligible ixigo flight and hotel bookings receive 4% instantly with the required coupon code, plus 1% as statement cashback. The mechanism therefore differs from a single cashback credit.

Other eligible spending earns 1% cashback, capped at ₹500 a month. Instant discounts reduce the purchase amount; cashback is credited to the card account through the statement.

What the headline leaves out

Eternal advertises up to ₹3,500 a month, or ₹42,000 a year. That adds the ₹2,000 platform-discount ceiling, ₹1,000 partner ceiling and ₹500 base-cashback ceiling. It assumes all three are fully used; it is not an estimate of a typical customer’s savings.

Exclusions include fuel, wallet loads, rent, utilities, insurance and EMI transactions. Eternal’s FAQ says exclusions also apply within its apps, including baby food and feeding essentials, tobacco products and gift cards. A purchase being available on an app does not automatically make it eligible.

The joining and yearly renewal fees are each ₹499 plus GST. SBI Card lists a renewal-fee waiver for spending ₹2 lakh or more in the preceding year. Interest and other applicable charges can reduce the net benefit.

The District movie offer has its own limit: once a month, up to ₹200 off the second ticket when two are bought together. “Buy one, get one” therefore does not promise a free second ticket at every price.

The bigger picture

The design gives shoppers a reason to keep several everyday purchases within Eternal’s brands. Whether that produces lasting loyalty remains to be seen: the launch provides no evidence yet of higher repeat orders or customer retention.

The Crunch

Eternal’s card links rewards to repeat spending across its brands. For consumers, the useful measure is the benefit on eligible purchases after shared caps, exclusions and charges, rather than the headline discount alone.
