Salesforce announced an agreement to buy customer-engagement platform Braze on October 20, 2026, valuing the transaction at approximately $5.66 billion in enterprise value. Braze Class A shareholders would receive $47.50 per share in cash.
The Breakdown
Braze coordinates messages across channels including apps, websites, email, SMS and WhatsApp. Salesforce plans to combine Braze’s real-time engagement and AI decisioning capabilities with Marketing Cloud and the wider Salesforce platform after closing.
The companies expect completion in Salesforce’s fiscal year 2028, subject to Braze shareholder approval, required regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The announcement does not establish an available combined product or a customer migration timetable.
Why This Matters for India
For India-based marketing and technology teams, the useful question is how a customer journey would run across the tools they use. Where would the customer profile sit? Which system would select the next message, and who would approve its content? How would consent preferences and campaign results move between systems?
Those questions belong in a buying or renewal discussion alongside price. A proposed common owner is not enough to settle them. Teams can map their current dependencies now, while asking suppliers for documented product availability, support responsibilities and contract terms before planning a switch.
The Crunch
Evaluate the customer journey before changing the software stack.
