Zerodha announced a public beta for US-stock investing on October 19, 2026, with activation in batches for eligible resident individuals. Account and identity checks still apply.
The Breakdown
Its guide describes a separate US-dollar wallet, funded through supported banks’ netbanking. Domestic Kite cash cannot be used directly, and UPI or cards are unsupported. Sale proceeds return to the dollar wallet.
The October 19 launch notice described withdrawals and reports as forthcoming. Their availability across beta accounts has not been established by the material reviewed.
Behind the interface
Zerodha names India INX Global Access and ViewTrade as partners. Its guide says US shares are held through the US broker partner, rather than in an Indian demat account.
India INX GA’s general terms distinguish two entities: ViewTrade International IFSC manages the brokerage account from GIFT City, while execution, clearing and custody run through US broker ViewTrade Securities. These terms describe the service model, not every Zerodha customer’s signed agreement.
The Crunch
A shared screen connects separate funding and holding arrangements. Beta access also leaves feature readiness to be checked.
